A new crazy golf venue featuring talking gargoyles, animatronics and a twisted 1980s-inspired diner is set to open at Westgate Oxford on 13th August.
Ted’s Crazy Golf will take over the space previously occupied by Junkyard Golf Club, offering two nine-hole courses alongside a bar, food and a range of large-scale installations.
The new venue has been created by Larissa Houghton and Christopher Legh, founders of experience-led hospitality company Anger Mgmt Venues.
Inspired by late-1980s and early-1990s Americana, cult movies, comedy horror and nostalgic pop culture, Ted’s has been designed around an original fictional world and characters.
Its two courses will each offer a different theme.
Bad Bones will take players through a gothic graveyard featuring talking gargoyles, skeletons, serpents, zombie hands and other creatures.
The second course, Fun House, is designed as a twisted fairground and will include a carousel, caged lion and warped hall of mirrors.
Larissa Houghton, co-founder of Ted’s Crazy Golf, said: “We are so excited to bring Ted’s Crazy Golf to Oxford and let people step inside the world we have created.
“This is a place that has come completely from our imagination. We wanted to build somewhere that feels fun, weird, nostalgic and full of surprises, where people walk in and feel like they have stepped through a portal into another dimension.”
The venue will also include a bar inspired by a 1980s American diner, serving cocktails, milkshakes, ice-cream floats and frozen slushies alongside beers, wine and non-alcoholic drinks.
Food options will include pizzas, hot dogs and popcorn.
Ted’s Crazy Golf is aimed at a wide range of visitors, including families, groups of friends, couples and work socials.

Tickets will be available to book online, while walk-ins will also be accepted.
Ted’s Crazy Golf opens at Westgate Oxford Shopping Centre on 13th August 2026.
