Oxford Gospel Choir is preparing to celebrate the festive season with a special Christmas concert at St Edward’s School in Oxford.
The community choir will perform its Together At Christmas concert on Saturday 12 December, from 3pm to 5pm, at Olivier Hall on Woodstock Road.
The afternoon performance has been planned with families in mind and will feature the choir’s repertoire of gospel and popular music.
This year’s concert will support Down Syndrome Oxfordshire, the choir’s chosen charity partner for 2026.
The charity has a special connection to the group, as choir director Jules is also Chair of the Oxfordshire Parent Carers Forum, which supports parents of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The choir is exploring funding opportunities to cover the costs of staging the concert, with the hope of donating proceeds from ticket sales to the charity.
Oxford Gospel Choir celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2024 and regularly performs at concerts and community events across Oxfordshire, often supporting charitable causes.
Its smaller Events Choir has performed at Truck Festival, Bunkfest and Oxford’s New Theatre, as well as supporting artists including Susan Boyle, Peter Andre and The Drifters.
The group has also been a finalist in BBC Gospel Choir of the Year and provided music for BBC One’s Christmas Eve news broadcast in 2019.
The December performance will mark the choir’s first concert at Olivier Hall.
