Oxford welcomes a chic new addition to its dining and wining scene as The Oxford Wine Cellar takes its prime spot in the heart of the city. Situated on the iconic intersection of the High Street and King Edward Street, the freshly refurbished venue now houses one of the city’s most extensive wine collections, promising an experience for locals, students, and wine enthusiasts alike.

For those who have an appreciation for global flavours, they’re in for a treat. The wine list boasts an impressive selection of over 200 fine and affordable wines spanning the globe. Not to be outdone by wines, the venue also offers a diverse range of beers, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks. Complementing the drinks is a contemporary food menu, dishing out an assortment of locally-sourced meats, cheeses, and an eclectic mix of tapas.

George Sandbach, a director of The Oxford Wine Group, said: “We are so excited to finally be opening our doors in the city centre. This day has been a long time coming and we are pleased to now be able to welcome everyone into our newest venue – The Oxford Wine Cellar. “The response from the people of Oxford has been great so far and we have been inundated with bookings and inquiries. We hope our new wine bar will become a go-to destination in the city for couples, groups of friends, families and colleagues to enjoy a great glass of wine.”

The transformation of the venue is credited to the combined efforts of the Oxford Wine Cellar team and renowned Interior Designer, Emma Finneron. Their vision turned the previous retail space into a sophisticated hub. While the ground floor caters to social interactions with a spacious bar and seating, the basement promises an authentic wine cellar vibe, ensuring a more intimate setting.

To mark its grand arrival, The Oxford Wine Cellar recently rolled out the red carpet for a VIP event, welcoming close to 100 guests to indulge in the venue’s offerings. Reflecting on the event, Mr. Sandbach stated, “Our opening party was a great success – it was brilliant to show off the space for the first time and share the concept with a selection of customers and contacts,”

“We now look forward to welcoming everyone else to The Oxford Wine Cellar to experience it for themselves.”

The Oxford Wine Cellar joins the esteemed family of the Oxford Wine Group. This includes renowned names like the Oxford Wine Company, the Oxford Wine Café, Sandy’s Piano Bar, and Little Sandy’s in Witney.

Oxfordians and visitors can now raise their glasses at The Oxford Wine Cellar every day of the week. Whether it’s a coffee catch-up or evening drinks, the venue promises an unmatched ambiance from noon till late.
