Business leaders from across Oxfordshire are being encouraged to spend a night outdoors to raise money and awareness for people facing homelessness.

The OHM CEO Sleepout Oxford, organised locally by Oxfordshire Homeless Movement (OHM), will take place at Oxford University Parks on Thursday 8 October.

More than 60 senior executives, founders and decision-makers are expected to take part, although businesses can also enter teams. Each participant will be encouraged to raise at least £1,000 for OHM’s local partners and frontline projects.

OHM says its local sleepout events have raised more than £250,000 over the past four years.

Yvonne Pinner, Project Director at OHM said: “Homelessness is everybody’s business. Oxfordshire has an incredibly influential and compassionate business community, and OHM CEO Sleepout Oxford gives the practical opportunity to use that influence to make a difference.

“One night outdoors cannot begin to replicate the fear, insecurity and danger experienced by someone without a safe place to live. However, it can encourage greater empathy, start important conversations and raise vital funds for work supporting people across Oxfordshire.”

Money raised will support projects during the year ahead, including work supporting women experiencing homelessness.

The 2025 Women’s Rough Sleeping Census found 1,406 women had slept rough during the previous three months across 101 participating local authority areas. It also found 65% had slept or stayed in places which would not be captured by official rough sleeping snapshot counts.

OHM, which led Oxfordshire’s contribution to the census in 2024 and 2025, will lead the local census again this year.
